Day1: Arrive in Rome. Check into
hotel. Rest of the day is free to explore this ancient capital. Meet
Tour Director in evening. Day2: ROME – Sightseeing with a local guide
starting in St. Peter’s Square followed by a visit to the Roman Forum and the
Colosseum. (Breakfast) Day3: ROME-ORVIETO-SIENA – We travel
northwest to Orvieto in the Umbria
region to its black basalt and yellow limestone cathedral, an excellent
example of Italian Gothic architecture. Arrive in Siena, jewel of
Tuscany. Dinner in one of the cafes that surround the Campo and admire one
of Italy’s most unique squares, famed all over the world for its Palio horse race. (Breakfast) Day 4:
SIENA-SANGIMIGNANO-GREVE-MONTECATINI – This morning, drive to San Gimignano, one of Tuscany’s greatest attractions.
Its medieval squares, town walls, streets, alleyways and 14 towers make
it unique. Next, we go into the very heart of Chianti vineyards stoping in Greve for wine.
Tasting at a local wine producer. Arrive
in Montecatini for an optional Tuscan dinner.
(Breakfast) Day 5:
MONTECATINI-EXCURSION TO FLORENCE – We will spend the entire
day in this gem of a Renaissance city. Be sure to do the included
walking tour that includes most of the city’s highlights with our local
guide. You will see the Piazza Santa Croce, the beautiful Piazza Signoria, the Palazzo Vecchio
and its courtyard, the Logia dei Lanzi, the Piazza del Duomo and
its cathedral with the Giotto Campanile and the magnificient
East Door of the Baptistry, known As the “Gate of
Paradise.” (Breakfast, Dinner) Day
6: MONTECATINI-PISA-VENICE AREA – Drive to Pisa
in the morning to visits its Sqaure of Miracles and
the amazing Leaning Tower. Later, head across the wooded Apennine Hills
into the farmlands fo the Po Valley for 2 nights in
the Venice area. (Breakfast) Day
7: VENICE AREA – With its criss-crossing
canals, gondolas and water buses, arched bridges, palaces and little quiet
piazzas, Venice is more like a film set than a real live city. We
start with a boat ride followed by leisure time and a chance to watch
Venetian glassblowers fashion their delicate objects. You might want to
take an optional gondola trip to glide along picturesque canals with a
local troubadour to serenade you. Breakfast, Dinner). Day
8: VENICE AREA-ASSISI-ROME – We travel south
this morning cutting across the Po Delta,
then crossing the Apennines. We will stop in Day
9 : ROME - Vacation will end with
breakfast this morning (Breakfast). Travel Insurance
